- It took place in Lodz on January 31 (February 13) 1919 at five o'clock in the afternoon. We announce that in the presence of witnesses Karl Handelman, a miller of 50 years old and Berthold Rosentreter, a 21-year-old clerk who live in Balut, today a religious marriage alliance has been concluded between Leopold Hoffmann, a bachelor, a pastry chef living in Lodz near the parish of St. John, 26 years old, born in Lodz, the son of the shoemaker Theodor Hoffmann and his legal wife Elizabeth, nee Wolfangel, of the Evangelical Augsburg denomination and the maiden Ida Rosentreter, 18 years old, born in Balut, daughter of the late homeowner Gottfried Rosenreten and his legal wife Rosalia, nee Gerd, living in Balut with her mother, of the Evangelical Augsburg denomination. The mother of the underage bride declared her consent to the marriage verbally. The act is read and signed, the mother of the bride is illiterate.
