He was born Aug. 27, 1918 in White County, the son of the late Emil and Ada Waltz Rosentreter. On July 24, 1945, he married Esther R. Webb in Reynolds and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Beth Westfall (husband: Tom) of Reynolds, Nancy Lewis (husband: John) of Kansas City, Kansas and Susan Novack (husband: Jim) of Agoura Hills, California; a son, James Rosentreter (wife: Connie) of Franklin; a brother, Dean Rosentreter of Waveland; a sister, Norma Mann (husband: Howard) of California; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Rosentreter and a sister, Margaret Mahoy. He served as a first lieutenant with the 8th U.S. Air Force in the European Theater.
