This information confirms that Pavel Rosentreter had a son, Viktor Pavlovich Rosentreter. He also had two daughters: Margarita and Antonina. This information was shared with the author by relatives on Antonina's side of the family. I contacted the author to get in touch with the relatives and find out more information. Here is a translation of the article:

"The History of the Rosentreter Surname

While reviewing the lists of students from the Pogorelov school, I often see Ukrainian and German surnames. They certainly pique interest but no longer surprise... Although there was a primary school in the Tafta villages, from the 5th grade onwards, the children of dispossessed Ukrainians and deported Germans who worked at the Tafta lumber camp studied at the Pogorelov seven-year school. And when, during wartime, one of the orphanages was relocated from Totma to Pogorelovo, the number of surnames completely atypical for Tiksna-area villages in the school registers noticeably increased.

Among the Kuznetsovs, Linkovs, and Maykovs – there was Tamara Rosentreter… Who was this girl? Where did such a surname come from? It was only recently that I managed to hear the story of both this girl and her family, and also to conclude that not all German surnames in the school register are connected to the sad events of our history.

Andrei Grigorievich Linkov's house in Pogorelovo was the first according to the village order (now a three-story house No. 40 stands there on Tsentralnaya Street). From the Linkovs' windows back then, one could see the old butter factory, which before the revolution was owned by the Vologda merchants V. Grachov and A. Sysoev. A spot on the Big Post Road – a busy and talkative place…

Andrei Grigorievich married Alexandra Gavrilovna (or Gavrilievna) from the Volokitin family. Her parents' house stood in the same village of Pogorelovo by the Vopra River. The young couple had two children (Andrei and Raisa), but their family happiness ended there. Andrei died, and Alexandra remained living in his house with the children.

Alexandra's second husband, Pavel Karlovich Rosentreter, was German by nationality. It is unknown how he ended up in Pogorelovo in the late 1910s, but he was considered an educated man – he worked as an accountant at the butter factory, briefly under the management of Robert Eduardovich Rieder. The number of children in the family grew noticeably, and they all bore the surname Rosentreter: Galina, Tamara, Viktor, Margarita, Antonina (born 1929).

It's hard to say for what reason in the late 1930s Pavel Karlovich left the family and hastily departed from Pogorelovo, not waiting for all his children to grow up, but Alexandra Gavrilovna raised the kids alone. It was difficult and there was hunger. Robert Rieder always supported the family. During the Great Patriotic War, the recent schoolboy Viktor Rosentreter (born 1923) went to the front – he did not return. He was captured and went missing. All his sisters also eventually left the village, except for Antonina, who lived with her mother but later married and became Kuznetsova.

So ended the history of the surname unusual for Tiksna, except that it remained in the school registers and at the Pogorelovo cemetery, where on one of the monuments, on the grave of a rural laborer, there is an inscription "Alexandra Gavrilovna Rosentreter"…
