      Rosentreter, a Teacher Here 26 Years, Is Dead
      Fred W. Rosentreter, 61, of 605 Cleveland avenue, member of the Lincoln high
      school faculty for 26 years and a teacher in the state for 35 years, died late
      Friday at the Sheboygan Memorial hospital.
      He was taken to the hospital 10 days ago and submitted to an operation.
      Funeral services will be held at the Ballhorn funeral chapel at Eighth and St.
      Clair streets in Sheboygan at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be cremated.
      Mr. Rosenteter was born in Winneconne, Wis., in 1888 and was graduated from
      the high school at Omro. He later attended the Oshkosh State Teachers college
      from which he was graduated and received his bachelors degree in 1923 and his
      master’s degree in 1938 at the University of Wisconsin.
      Praised As Teacher
      After teaching in rural schools in South Dakota and Wisconsin he became principal
      of schools at Kohler, Luck and Glidden, all in this state, before coming to
      Manitowoc in the fall of 1923 to teach geography and health. He was in the army
      during World War I. He married Florence Ristow of Omro in 1918.
      Mr. Rosentreter was one of the most conscientious teachers at Lincoln high school
      and did much to aid his class members during the more than 25 years he served
      school officials said. He also was active in athletic affairs of the schools
      assisting in ticket taking at most athletic events and serving as a field official
      at track meets held in the city.
      Wife, 2 Sons Survive
      His affiliations included membership in the County Teachers association, the
      Wisconsin Education association and the national association. He was a member of
      the National Association of Science Teachers, and a national geographic society.
      He was also a member of the Masonic order.
      Survivors are his wife; two sons, Frederick M., a teacher of the extension division
      of the state university, Madison; and Merton of Milwaukee; brother, Julius of
      Oshkosh; sister, . William Freeman of Oshkosh.
      Friends may call at the Ballhorn funeral home in Sheboygan from Monday morning until
      the hour of services Tuesday afternoon.
