    • Tech Sgt. John H. Rosentreter, 38, reported missing in action on April 16, 1944 over India, has been officially listed as dead, relatives have been advised.

      A radio operator in the Army Air Force, Sergeant Rosentreter was on his 22nd mission when his plane was last seen disappearing among the clouds. He was a member of the crew of a B-25 which left India on a bombing mission to Northern Burma.

      Sergeant Rosentreter was born in Memphis and lived at 1009 Tully. He attended Leroy Page School and graduated from Tech High School. He was 34 and was with Crane Company when he entered the service July 31, 1942.

      He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

      After going overseas in September 1943, he served in Africa, Sicily, Italy, Egypt and India.
